Numerous styles have found their way into Lou Asril’s work: in addition to soul and RnB, which initially dominated, pop, hip-hop and electronic music are strong influences that continue to help him find his very own style. Lou Asril released his second EP RETROMIX21 in March 2023. It was followed by some exciting live performances: LIDO SOUNDS Festival in Linz, ImPulsTanz Festival in Vienna, as Sportfreunde Stille support in Merano and a headline show at the Wiener Konzerthaus.

As a promising soul newcomer and rising star on the Austrian music scene, Lou Asril has been attracting attention since 2019. From the very beginning, the young artist has exhibited a self-created tension between extraordinary talent and curiosity for development.

His debut single DIVINE GOLDMINE yielded him a No. 1 charts listings, prominent playlist placements and award nominations for Best Alternative at the AAMA and FM4 Award. In 2020 he released his debut EP LOUASRIL, before performing at festivals such as Glatt&Verkehrt and poolbar.
In 2023 Lou Asril released his second EP RETROMIX21. While DIVINE GOLDMINE still testifies to softer, soulful facets of his skills, RETROMIX21 makes it clear that he has undergone a transformation. On the new EP, he shows his affinity with electronic music, incorporating elements from hip-hop to rap. His tone becomes sharper, the melodies edgier, the sound bolder and—in the best possible sense—”dirtier”.
