Neuro-Tech Lab “MindShift” project

Erika Mondria (AT)

The Neuro-Tech Lab “MindShift” project offers festival visitors 5 participatory events exploring Brain-Interaction. Visitors can participate in expert discussions, workshops, and neuro-interactive scenarios. Events such as the 3D mind challenge game “ECO-neuro-NET,” interlink your neural signals, scientific insights, and recycling solutions. And, in the science-art scenario “DER WENDEPUNKT” you can experience your neuronal signals live and explore the ethical implications of your frontal lobe.

Explore the challenging world of Brain-Computer Interaction (BCI) during the festival in the Neuro-Tech Lab “MindShift” project. Numerous clinical applications are already demonstrating the success of BCI technology, for example in the neurorehabilitation of multiple sclerosis patients. Visitors are invited to participate in expert discussions, workshops, and neuro-interactive scenarios.

At the “NEURO-GAMING” workshop participants will be trained to control games via brain signals. The 3D mind challenge “ECO-neuro-NET” combines neuronal signals, scientific findings, inspiring recycling solutions and tricky tasks for your mind. In the “MIND-CLOUD” project, you can find out how “cognitive neuroimaging” becomes an artistically transformed narrative of neurophysiological processes. And last but not least, participants can experience their own neuronal signals in real time in the science-art project “DER WENDEPUNKT” and explore the ethical implications of the frontal lobe.

According to neuroscience, the moral authority is located in the frontal lobe. At the neuro-live-experience DER WENDEPUNKT, you are invited to watch exemplary samples of digital media. The electroreceptors on your forehead capture your brain-oscillation in real time and mirror the turning point of your cortical responses to the surface. Observe your neuronal signals live…

Mycelium and mushrooms are no longer just the future. Styrofoam can already be replaced by mycelium. This is exactly where the Neuro-recycle-game comes in. Not only is “The Sound of MYCEL” searched for in this 3D game, but also visual, auditory and haptic challenges have to be mastered.

The brain is an oscillating organ. Neurotechnologies are able to analyze these constantly-changing oscillations. Can brain oscillations reveal humans’ attitudes and thoughts? In the MIND-CLOUD project, cognitive neuroimaging is artistically transformed into a narrative of neurophysiological processes.
