The inspiration for our theme originates from a Buddhist term — “zidu.” “Zì” means “oneself,” and “du” means “to cross”, literally translating to the act of crossing a river by oneself. In a broader philosophical sense within Buddhism, “zidu” means relying on one’s own strength, through internal effort and practice, to overcome difficulties, escape adversity, and achieve inner peace and freedom. In essence, “zidu” is like “crossing the sea of suffering.”
