Structural Neurosis is a sound installation that explores the compulsive and neurotic behaviors inherent in confession ceremonies and prayers, as well as the believer’s experience of devotion. It creates a worship space that expresses the inherent compulsive behavior and the annihilation of the self in the presence of divinity. The piece utilizes generative and controlled sound systems developed using Max MSP and modular systems.
