Sensory Orders is an exhibition, online and print project examining the different orders of sense making taking place under our (current) conditions of extreme precarity and uncertainty. Twenty five international artists, scholars and researchers respond to how different orders – the /symbolic/ realm of language and culture, the /technological /realm of machines and the /organic /realm of viruses, plants, animals and the physical-chemical matter of the earth itself – sense on and affect each other.

Biographies
Erik Adigard (FR/US), M-A-D has evolved through a hybrid of design and art practices, ranging from identity and multimedia to environmental design and activism. Notable works are visual essays and experimental projects for Wired, the IBM software global brand system, and major installations for international biennales including the Venice Architecture Biennale’s US Pavilion. Adigard teaches communication design at the California College of the Arts. He works between M-A-D’s main office in the SF Bay Area and his studio in Montpellier, France.
Chris Salter (US/QC-CA) is an artist, Professor of Design and Computation Arts at Concordia University in Montreal and Co-Director of the Hexagram. His performances, installations, research and publications have been presented at festivals, exhibitions and conferences in more than 15 countries. He is the author of Entangled: Technology and the Transformation of Performance (MIT Press 2010) and Alien Agency: Experimental Encounters with Art in the Making (MIT Press, 2015).
