Corona Safety Regulations

In the following text we will inform you in great detail about the Corona prevention measures at the Ars Electronica Festival 2020.

You hereby declare that you understand and agree with the information given by the oral- and written information below and I will follow the hygiene measures.


  1. To maintain Discipline

    We kindly ask you to maintain dicipline in compliance with the regulations in the interest of your self-responsibility and the responsibility among each other.

  2. Sign – Up

    In preperation of your visit and to avoid time of waiting, we ask you to bindingly register in advance bevor visiting our locations Ars Elektronica Center, KEPLERS GARDENS and university of fine art Linz.

  3. Keep Distance

    Please keep a minimum distance of 1m or more to everybody who does not live in your houshold.

  4. Face Mask

    It is mandatory for all visitors to wear their face mask while on the festival location, excluded are allocated labeled seats or while consuming food and drinks. Please bring your own face mask!

  5. No Group-bookings

    We are sorry that the Ars Electronica 2020’ does not offer group tickets. Please do not form clusters!

  6. Punctuality

    Please be on time to avoid standiong in queues at the entrance.

  7. Stick to breathing hygiene

    Please caugh and sneeze’ in the crook of the arm or use a clean tissue.

  8. Wash your hands

    Please wash your hands thoroughly’ minimum of 30 seconds and do use our disinfectant dispenders.

  9. Symptoms

    If you find yourself with symptoms of disease like a fever, cough, difficulty breathing — Please Stay at Home! We will refund your ticket. Medical Assistant Hotline 1450

  10. STOPP CORONA APP

    To controll the spreading of the Coronavirus we recommend using the’ Stopp Corona App for smartphones of the Austrian Red Cross (Rotes Kreuz).’ 

  11. No Cash

    Please pay peferably without cash.

  12. Contact Information

    Before the visit each visitor must provide contact details. This information will be stored for up to four weeks after the Ars Electronica Festival and will be used exclusively for contact tracking purposes. After the deadline expires, they are automatically deleted.

  13. Health Check

This year we ask you to stay in your home country in the spirit of “Stay at Home” and enjoy the Ars Electronica Festival online or at an Ars Electronica Garden near you. Although it is an extremely painful step for us to do without thousands of international visitors here in Linz, this year’s editions and the conception of the events in Linz make this step necessary.

The predominant focus of the Ars Electronica 2020 program is also on the dense online program, which is being created with over 100 international partners (“Ars Electronica Gardens”) and will be physically distributed around the world as well as presented online!
