The Colors of the Sea and Long Night of the Museums
(Linz, October 3, 2017) Breathtakingly beautiful underwater imagery is on tap at the next Deep Space LIVE on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 7 PM. Linz-based diver and underwater photographer Peter Pflügl will accompany visitors through the macro & micro world of the oceans, and reveal habitats that are invisible to the naked eye. Two days later on Saturday, October 7th, the Ars Electronica Center has a fascinating lineup in store for culture vultures and night owls on the Long Night of the Museums.

Visitors to the Ars Electronica Center can look forward to a highly diversified program on the Long Night of the Museums:
Quickie Tours / 6 PM to 1 AM / Hourly; Duration: 30-45 minutes
Various themed toured through the Ars Electronica Center’s exhibits confront some big questions: How did life emerge; what’s the current state of humankind; and where are future developments headed?
At First Glance: What Our Body Reveals! / 6-11 PM, Lobby
Measured biometric data captured by eye-tracking systems and brain-computer interface technologies are deployed in various ways. Staff experts from g.tec medical engineering GmbH will assist visitors in trying out EEG caps. Then, Jürgen Bluhm, head of market research at the Institut für Wahrnehmungsforschung, will analyze test subject’s glances and measure their skin resistance to determine their stress level in certain situations.
Deep Space 8K / 6 PM to 12 Midnight / Duration: approximately 30 minutes
Several Best-Ofs show historic sites in 3-D, images from inside the human body, and interactive games audience members can play. Then, a special presentation in Deep Space deals with the theme of the 2017 Ars Electronica Festival: Artificial Intelligence – The Other I.
Kids’ Research Lab for 4-8-year-olds / 6-10 PM
The Kids’ Research Lab is a setting for experimentation with motor, intellectual and social skills. The basic principle underlying all activities here is exploration, discovery and comprehension via play.
