(Linz, June 17, 2020) Learn how elements from computer games help to motivate pupils for home schooling, experience how comics come to life with the help of augmented reality or enjoy listening to Dennis Russell Davies and Maki Namekawa playing music by Kurt Schwertsik for his 80th birthday. In week 8, Ars Electronica Home Delivery will once again deliver a varied program of art, technology and society directly to the living room, kitchen, children’s room, balcony or terrace. The audience is again invited to ask questions via YouTube commentary, or to join in a little chat via Skype. At Deep Space LIVE with Dr.in Manuela Macedonia on June 25, 40 visitors are allowed. The entrance fee is 3 € each. Reservations are accepted on a first come – first serve basis, at 0732/7272-0.
Artist Talk: NextComic Goes Live

Based on the theme of this year’s NextComic Festival, students at the Linz Master School of Communication Design have used augmented reality to discard traditional role models and translate this process into comics. If these are viewed using a mobile phone or tablet, the static images are transformed into animations and also new design elements are added. In this Artist Talk the young artists talk about their works and their inspirations.
Deep Space Live: Embodiment: Learning words in a foreign language with your body

According to the thesis of the embodiment, learning is based on sensomotoric processes, i.e. an interaction of the senses and the motory systems. Neuroscientist Dr.in Manuela Macedonia tells at Deep Space LIVE that the use of gestures leads to the formation of extended networks in the brain, making it easier to learn and retain words in foreign language teaching. 40 visitors are admitted to Deep Space LIVE. Science Talk: Greenfoot Serta Busters – Learning to program playfully (not only) during the lockdown

Peter Bauer from the Department of Informatics at the HTBLA Leonding will present a didactic concept for computer science teaching at this Science Talk. What’s so special about it? This concept uses elements of computer games, such as level advancement or high scores, to maintain the motivation of students in home schooling.
Concert LIVE: Maki Namekawa & Dennis Russell Davies
FRI June 26, 2020 / 7 p.m
On the occasion of the 85th birthday of the Austrian composer Kurt Schwertsik, Maki Namekawa and Dennis Russell Davies play “I’ll charm the air to give a sound…” form his oeuvre. In addition, the audience can expect music from Joep Beving and Ludwig von Beethoven’s Fidelio. Both musicians are again accompanied by Cori O’Lan’s visualizations, which interact with the music in real time. This concert is also the last in the series with Dennis Russell Davies and Maki Namekwawa. After the concert there will be another chance to chat with the artists via Skype or to ask questions via YouTube commentary.
