(Linz, 30.11.2020) Experience a LIVE concert by Wolfgang Fadi Dorninger and his self-soldered sound generators with Node.Linz, marvel at the Ars Electronica Futurelab’s virtual Nativity figures of the Mariendom Linz in Deep Space 8K and learn from Gudrun Blochberger, educational director of the Mauthausen Concentration Camp Memorial, how the Holocaust can be communicated to young people today, even in times of a pandemia. Once again this week, Ars Electronica Home Delivery will be delivering fascinating material from the fields of art, technology and society directly into the living room, kitchen, office, children’s room or even classroom. The audience is again cordially invited to ask questions via Skype or YouTube comments.
Deep Space Special: Wolfgang Fadi Dorninger – Node.Linz

Industrial, sound art, techno and noise: Linz-based artist Wolfgang Fadi Dorninger will be shaking up Deep Space 8K on Tuesday. Together with Didi Bruckmayr, Peter Androsch, Geza Eisserer and Nadja Schütz, Dorninger will not only perform current pieces, but also timeless works from the late 1980s and 2001, including self-soldered sound generators.
Deep Space LIVE: The Virtual Crib of the Mariendom in Linz

Following their restoration, the Ars Electronica Futurelab scanned the nativity figures of St. Mary’s Cathedral in Linz using photogrammetry and restaged them as an interactive and audiovisual experience for St. Mary’s Cathedral and the Ars Electronica Center’s Deep Space 8K. At Deep Space LIVE, viewers not only have the opportunity to examine the digitized nativity scene figures but also learn interesting facts about various theological and art historical aspects of the nativity scene from Petra Weiss (Federal Office for the Protection of Monuments/Department for Upper Austria) and Dr. Maximilian Strasser (Cathedral Pastor). Stefan Mittlböck-Jungwirth (Ars Electroncia Futurelab) will also provide insights into the process of digitizing the nativity scene figures.
At home with… Gudrun Blohberger

Gudrun Blohberger is the pedagogical director of the KZ Mauthausen Memorial. In the course of “At home with…” she will give an insight into her work at home and tell how she and her team try to encourage young people to think and do research by means of digital mediation services, even in times of a pandemic. And how details from everyday life in the camp can be used to establish references to the present.
