(Linz, 21.12.2020) This week, viewers of Ars Electronica Home Delivery can look forward to a first-class piano concert with music by Philip Glass performed by Maki Namekawa and Dennis Russell Davies and an exciting making-of about the digitization of the Nativity figures of Linz’s St. Mary’s Cathedral. On December 31, 2020, Maki Namekawa and Dennis Russell Davies will bring the old year to a close in the Ars Electronica Center’s Piano Room with pieces by Ludwig van Beethoven, Johann Sebastian Bach and Arvo Pärt. In addition, Ars Electronica Home Delivery offers plenty of fascinating things to watch and delivers clips ranging from astronomy and cultural heritage to artificial intelligence and machine learning directly to the living room, kitchen, office, children’s room or even classroom.
Inside Futurelab: Making-of Virtual Crib

After their restoration, the Nativity figures of Linz’s St. Mary’s Cathedral were scanned by the Ars Electronica Futurelab using photogrammetry and restaged as an interactive and audiovisual experience for the St. Mary’s Cathedral and the Ars Electronica Center’s Deep Space 8K. As part of a making-of, viewers will learn interesting facts about the process of photogrammetry and see how three-dimensional figures are ultimately created from individual images.

On December 24, Ars Electronica Home Delivery presents piano music at its finest. On the program are pieces by Philip Glass, played by Maki Namekawa and Dennis Russell Davies. The two artists will again be accompanied by Cori O’Lan’s visualizations, which interact in real time with the volume and timbre of the music.

Ars Electronica Home Delivery brings the year 2020 to a close with a concert. Works by Ludwig von Beethoven, Johann Sebastian Bach and Arvo Pärt will be performed. Cori O’Lan will again accompany the two musicians with his visualizations that interact with the music in real time.
