- All about the event: Pianographique – 3 x 90
- Program at the Ars Electronica Center
(Linz, October 30, 2025) In 2025, three important international composers celebrated their 90th birthdays: Kurt Schwertsik from Austria, Terry Riley from the US, and Arvo Pärt from Estonia. All three have left their mark on 20th-century music history with their musical signature and continue to shape the music of our time with their inspiring works. Ars Electronica will honor them on November 9 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. with a special Deep Space concert entitled Pianographique – 3 x 90.
Dennis Russell Davies (AT/US) has a long-standing friendship with all three composers as a conductor and pianist: they have written works for him and he has conducted numerous premieres. In Deep Space 8K, Dennis Russell Davies (AT/US) and Maki Namekawa (AT/JP) will now play a best-of selection, taking visitors on a musical journey through time from the 1950s to the present. They will be accompanied by digital images by Cori O‘Lan (AT).
