Curated by the China Millennium Monument Museum of Digital Arts, the exhibition showcases promising smart city initiatives all over the world. GeoCity Beijing by AE Solutions plays a starring role.

GeoCity Smart City Exhibition

The GeoCity Smart City exhibition takes a holistic approach to facilitating the viewing and comprehension of complex urban facts & circumstances as a means of promoting innovative urban development and delivering improved services to city dwellers. It consists of 60 works by 50 international design studios in 14 countries. The exhibition is supported by the Austrian Embassy, the French Embassy and Dutch Design Fashion Architecture.

GeoCity Beijing

GeoCity Beijing—based on the original GeoCity developed by the Ars Electronica Futurelab—will premiere at the exhibition in Beijing. Following up on the Linz and Berlin versions, GeoCity Beijing is the first Asian adaptation. It is the result of a collaborative effort by AE Solutions, CMoDA CoINNO Lab and Design Beijing Lab at the Information Art and Design Department of Tsinhua University.

China Millennium Monument Museum of Digital Arts

Located directly beneath the China Millennium Monument, a Beijing landmark, the China Millennium Monument Museum of Digital Arts (CMoDA) specializes in digital art & design. It is an innovative, experimental setting for exhibitions, tours and educational programs.

GeoCity

GeoCity is a presentation & information platform designed for the visualization of spatially-related data. The GeoCity interface uses the geographic information system (GIS) of the selected location and interlinks it to maps and/or high-definition aerial photographs and various other content—for instance, statistical & demographic data, real-time data from webcams, current weather information, traffic updates or the results of algorithmic calculations. GeoCity is a “walk-through” databank that utilizes new communication methods to get across complex, interrelated information in an intuitive way. The application areas include the fields of tourism, training & continuing professional education, and municipal marketing & promotion.
