For Seniors: Inventing the New, Conserving the Old

For Seniors: Inventing the New, Conserving the Old
Friday, February 1 & 15, 2013 / 2-3 PM both days

(Linz, January 29, 2013) Every first and third Friday of the month, the Ars Electronica Center offers themed tours designed with seniors in mind. On February 1 & 15, visitors will learn how historical buildings and sites from Antiquity are being registered by laser and rendered with graphics programs as part of an effort to conserve them for the future. In the Ars Electronica Center’s Deep Space, tour participants will have the opportunity to explore the ancient cities of Thebes and Pompeii in 3D.

Deep Space

A visit to Deep Space is a truly unforgettable experience. It’s quipped with a total of eight 1080p high-definition and active stereo-capable Barco Galaxy NH12 projectors that can display 16×9-meter, crystal-clear images on the walls and floor. Whether you’re into great works from the history of art, space travel, journeys of discovery in the nanoworld, or a 3D South Sea island for kids, there are countless realms to discover in Deep Space.
