Deep Space LIVE: Panoptikum / Natural Disasters

Deep Space LIVE: Panoptikum / Natural Disasters
Thursday, June 6, 2013 / 8-9 PM / Ars Electronica Center Linz

(Linz, June 5, 2013) In the wake of the flooding that just wreaked havoc in parts of Upper Austria, tomorrow’s Deep Space LIVE: Panoptikum will treat a most timely topic: the violent forces of nature. Ars Electronica Artistic Director Gerfried Stocker, Christoph Kremer, head of the Ars Electronica Center, and Martina Mara of the Ars Electronica Futurlab will present photos and videos showing what transpired here in recent days. They’ll also discuss the role the internet and social media play in conjunction with such events—the dissemination of news as well as spontaneous organization of aid efforts.

Deep Space LIVE: Panoptikum

“Panoptikum” was a mainstay of Austria’s TV lineup for over 20 years. Now, it’s been reconceived and reformatted as a monthly online magazine in which Ars Electronica Artistic Director Gerfried Stocker, Christoph Kremer, head of the Center, and a member of the Ars Electronica Futurelab will present a roundup of the latest developments in art, technology, science and society in Deep Space at the Ars Electronica Center Linz.
