(Linz, May 14, 2017) World-class dance performances await visitors to the Ars Electronica Center at the opening of the 2017 tanzhafenFESTVIAL on Monday, May 15th at 8 PM. The festival runs until May 31st at multiple locations in Linz. The Ars Electronica Center is hosting three high-energy live acts and will also present a taste of what’s on the program over the coming weeks. Admission is free of charge.

Monday lineup:

Brief Treatise on Nothing / Iris Heitzinger / 8 PM / Lobby
Iris Heitzinger’s terpsichorean presentation is an animated experiment involving the performer and the audience, a playful investigation of the power of expression.

Say Hello / Vertebra Dance Collective & Transitheart Productions / Deep Space 8K
This interactive dance performance examines the contact between the dancer and the audience. Its subject: the first step in what could become a long-term relationship.

Spaces Alive – Colored Black Holes / The Crew dance production & KOTKI visuals / Deep Space 8K
In this multimedia dance performance, The Crew, Mikaela Kavdanska and Dilmana Yordanova explore both physical and interpersonal spaces by means of dance and impressive visuals.

The 2017 tanzhafenFESTIVAL

The tanzhafenFESTIVAL running until the end of May presents contemporary dance at several Linz venues: the Ars Electronica Center, LENTOS Art Museum, Tabakfabrik, Posthof, Landesgalerie and Central. In addition to seeing great dance performances, visitors are also cordially invited to attend workshops, participate in discussions and join the festivities.
