(Linz, 19.7.2020) On Tuesday, July 21, 2020, the Linz Ars Electronica Center will open its doors for the first time since mid-March and can be visited on pre-booked guided tours. From Tuesday through Saturday, two Highlight Tours and two Family Tours will be offered each day. Up to 10 people can take part in these tours. All guided tours must be booked in advance by telephone on 0732.7272.0 or by email to center@ars.electronica.art. The Ars Electronica Center’s in-house event service will also be available again starting July 21, and the Sky Loft can be booked at 0732.7272.12 or events@ars.electronica.art.

In order to be able to trace possible chains of infection in the event of a subsequent positive test for a visitor, contact details are recorded at the museum cashier’s desk and stored locally for a period of one month – after which the data is deleted. During the visit to the museum, mouth-and-nose protection must be worn and a minimum distance of 1 metre to other visitors and museum staff must be maintained.

Highlight tour – the best the Ars Electronica Center has to offer
TUE – SAT 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. (from TUE 21.7.2020)

Duration: 1.5 hours (incl. Deep Space 8K)
Artificial intelligence and the relationship between man and machine are the focal points of the new exhibitions at the Ars Electronica Center. During a highlight tour, you’ll have the opportunity to approach the thematic focuses of the exhibitions from a variety of perspectives. Use the Highlight Tours guided by our Infotrainers as a “navigation aid” through the new topics, which range from artificial intelligence and neuro-bionics, autonomous systems and robotics, through genetic engineering and biotechnology, to the far-reaching changes of our time. Each highlight tour is unique, as it does not follow a fixed route and each tour opens up new aspects in personal exchange with the Infotrainers.

Family Tour
TUE-SAT 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. (from TUE 7.7.2020)

Duration: 1.5 hours (incl. Deep Space 8K)
Registration under 0732.7272.0 or center@ars.electronica.art (max. 10 participants)
Explore the new exhibitions and labs at the Ars Electronica Center together with your family. “Hands on” – that is, experimenting, asking questions and making your own experiences are the main focus here. The tour is guided by our infotrainers, and even our youngest visitors never get bored. While programming self-propelled model cars or visiting the Kids Research Laboratory – the spirit of research and discovery is given free rein on the Family Tour. On this tour through the Ars Electronica Center, you’ll “playfully” familiarize yourself with the many different topics and aspects of our digitized everyday lives.

Ars Electronica Home Delivery
Ars Electronica Home Delivery was never intended as a substitute for a visit to the closed museum, but rather as a newly developed mediation approach designed to permanently open up the artistic-scientific preoccupation with the future that has left its mark in Linz to a larger audience-even though the Ars Electronica Center is now open again for guided tours, the stream of Deep Space presentations, guided tours, talks and workshops will continue to take place via the website and YouTube.

Skyloft bookable for events again
From now on the Skyloft can be booked for events again! The Sky Loft at the Ars Electronica Center Linz offers plenty of space for meetings, seminars, presentations, celebrations and much more. The Sky Loft can be booked again with immediate effect, subject to compliance with the currently valid regulations on infection control and minimum distance.
