Students of the Time-Based and Interactive Media Art program at the Kunstuni Linz have developed exciting interactive applications that call for collaboration and communication among participants.

At the heart of the Pyramid of Khufu

With the help of state-of-the-art technology, Deep Space takes you on a 3D exploration tour into the heart of the Pyramid of Khufu. Like in a computer game, visitors move through the interior of the only remaining wonder of the ancient world and discover a series of hidden chambers and passages.

With its large-scale wall and floor projections and laser tracking, Deep Space 8K offers a challenging infrastructure for media artists. Visitors will be immersed in visually stunning media artworks, some of which were specifically designed for Deep Space 8K, and will be amazed by the brilliance of the colors and the wonderful sound.
The Glass Dome

The “Dom St. Stephan zu Wien” is probably the biggest Austrian landmark, presented in Deep Space 8K in a way never seen before! Together, the visitors embark on a 3D tour through the entire cathedral. They will visit places that are otherwise inaccessible to the public and learn a lot of interesting facts about the history of St. Stephen’s Cathedral.
Gustav Klimt – Painter of Women
SAT 7.5. & SUN 8.5.2022 / each 3:00 pm
Women play a very important role in the works of art of the Art Nouveau painter Gustav Klimt, as the fine ladies of Viennese society were among his preferred motifs. The 16×9 meter projection surface of Deep Space 8K allows a unique view of Klimt’s paintings of women down to the smallest detail. Every tiny brushstroke can be made visible, bringing to light what was previously hidden.
Three new event formats in Deep Space 8K
Concerts of various genres accompanied by immersive visualizations, unique visual experiences that invite interactive participation and inspiring lectures by top-class experts on a wide range of topics. With the three new event formats “Deep Space Concert”, “Deep Space Lecture” and “Deep Space Experience”, the diverse possibilities of Deep Space 8K are used to offer artists, musicians and researchers the perfect setting.
