(Linz, 10.5.2022) With more than 14,000 visitors, the Ars Electronica Center in Linz just recorded its third-best April since Linz09. “After a slow winter due to the pandemic, we really wanted to get going this spring,” says Christoph Kremer, Director of the Ars Electronica Center. “We joined forces and did everything we could to get ourselves on the map right at the end of March – before the Easter vacations – with ‘Deep Space EVOLUTION.’” There were already 1,400 visitors* to the Museum of the Future during the opening weekend (April 2 and 3), and 5,800 during the Easter vacations (April 9 to April 17). The subsequent theme weekends around “Welcome to Planet B” and “Cultural Treasures & Interactive Media Art” also met with a very positive response. “So far, our calculations have paid off in full,” says Christoph Kremer, pleased that the Ars Electronica Center is once again bustling with visitors as it did in the years before the pandemic.
Also in high demand: the Future Thinking School
Also in high demand is Ars Electronica’s Future Thinking School. “We’ve started this school year with a whole series of new workshops and guided tours for schoolchildren, apprentices and students, and all but a few remaining places are fully booked,” says Christoph Kremer.
Next highlight at the Ars Electronica Center: the “Long Night of Research”
But no one on the Ars Electronica Center team wants to rest on their laurels. Quite the opposite. “We’re already working on the next highlights,” says Christoph Kremer, thinking, for example, of the “Long Night of Research” on May 20. “There will be 22 different offers for our museum visitors on that evening alone. A must for all curious people between 6 and 99.”
