During Children’s Culture Week, a colorful program awaits young visitors* to the Ars Electronica Center from Thursday, 13.10.2022 to Sunday, 23.10.2022. How can children be introduced to technology in a fun way? The Ars Electronica Center’s Children’s Research Lab shows how. From intuitively composing pieces of music to playfully immersing themselves in the world of programming to building Lego animals that can be brought to life with the help of an AI system.

Take a walk on the Milky Way and catch a star or two, explore hidden rooms inside a pyramid in the footsteps of the pharaohs, or save the Earth from aliens together. Exciting virtual experiences in 2D and 3D await you at Children’s Culture Deep Space.
Workshop: The World in Tons / SAT 15.10.2022, SUN 16.10.2022, SAT 22.10.2022, SUN 23.10.2022 / each from 2:00 – 4:30 pm / for children from 6 to 10 years old
In the children’s research lab, a wide variety of children’s interests are covered. Various garbage cans filled to the brim with exciting materials and games are waiting to be discovered and explored. From outer space to bionics, from the human body to 3D printing.
Workshop: Tardis Buddies / FRI 14.10.2022 from 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm / for children 4 years and older
Tardigrades, nematodes, wheel and slipper animals: All microscopic creatures that can normally only be observed via transmitted light microscope. In this workshop, highly magnified images of these little animals are cut out by laser cutter, designed with various materials and made to glow.
