The program highlights at a glance
Open Workshop: DIY Seedbombs | 18:00 – 20:30 and 21:00 – 23:00
Foyer, Level 0
Just one meadow flower can feed up to ten butterflies, bees or bumblebees – insects that are essential for a functioning ecosystem. To breathe life back into traffic islands, derelict green spaces and dreary roadsides, “Seedbombs” are made from flower and herb seeds, clay and water in the Open Workshop.
Open Workshop: Der Stoff, aus dem Raketen sind (The stuff that rockets are made of) | 18:00 – 20:30 and 21:00 – 23:30
Citizen Lab, Level -1, for children between 8 and 12 years
Spaceships, rockets and satellites: There is a lot to discover and explore in space. But what are spacecraft made of and what requirements do materials have to meet in space? By experimenting with the European Space Agency’s (ESA) spacecraft materials kit, children become materials researchers and discover the building materials used in space travel. The workshop is conducted by ESERO Austria.
Open Workshop: Alles Banane? | 18:00 – 23:30
Open Sound Studio, Level +2
How are sounds created – and how can we change them with the help of the latest technologies? In the Open Sound Studio, participants experiment with timbres and pitches and try out how even a banana can become a musical tool. When the controls of different synthesizers are set in motion, sound experiments become really exciting.
Family Tour: Wo ist Tardi? (Where is Tardi?) | 18:00 – 19:00, 19:00 – 20:00 and 20:00 – 21:00
Ars Electronica Labs, Level -1 (Seat tickets at the info desk)
Families on an adventure tour through the Ars Electronica Center: The guided tour “Where is Tardi?” follows the trail of the tiny tardigrades and leads from the microcosm to the human body and into space. The invitation to all participants is to try things out, join in and think.
Deep Space Family | 18:30 – 18:55, 19:30 – 19:55, 21:00 – 21:25, 22:00 – 22:25 and 23:00 – 23:25
Deep Space 8K, Ebene 0
Shining children’s eyes and enthusiastic parents in Deep Space 8K: Together, the participants explore interactive 3D programs, take virtual space journeys, and slip into a colorful story of colors and shapes.
Spielräume (Scopes) | 23:30 – 23:50
Deep Space 8K, Level 0
Full engagement is required when the Deep Space 8K becomes a space for immersive games and works of art. Innovative designs by students from the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria Campus Hagenberg and the University of Arts Linz invite visitors to immerse themselves in virtual worlds and actively help shape them.
