(Linz, October 7, 2024) The Linz Children’s Culture Week (“Kinderkulturwoche Linz”) starts on Wednesday, 9 October and offers a colorful program at around 30 participating cultural institutions in Linz up to and including Sunday, 20 October. The program includes some 250 events for children from the age of three and their families. At the Ars Electronica Center, the Kid’s Research Lab will once again be an experimental area, workshops will invite visitors to take part in hands-on activities and in Deep Space 8K visitors will need to use their whole body.

The children’s research laboratory is a hive of activity: the youngest visitors, aged four and up, are invited to experiment together and try out new things. Whether digital, analogue, natural or artificial – together with info trainers, children go on an exciting research journey with discoveries both big and small.
Workshop: Space Debris Tentacles | 7 to 11 years

In the Space Debris Tentacles creative workshop, children aged eight and over will explore how space can be kept clean and how the Earth’s orbit can be protected from space debris. After conducting experiments together, the children will develop ideas on how to effectively remove space debris, taking inspiration from nature.

Making the impossible possible. In the Deep Space 8K, families are invited to marvel at colourful 3D landscapes, take a walk on the Milky Way and experience ancient Egypt. Fun laser-tracking games and collaborative tasks round off the diverse program in the „Kinder Kultur Deep Space“.

In September 2024, the exceptional Upper Austrian composer Anton Bruckner would have celebrated his 200th birthday. To mark the occasion, the Ars Electronica Center is inviting children between the ages of nine and eleven to embark on an acoustic journey of discovery through Bruckner’s world of sounds. Participants in “AnTon und Töne” will discover what sounds might have inspired his compositions and what the musician has in common with the Ars Electronica Center.
