(Linz, December 9, 2024) On the third weekend of Advent the Ars Electronica Center invites you to the Family Days (December 14–15). Under the motto “Winterwunderzauber” (Winter Wonder Magic), families with children aged four and up can discover guided tours and exciting hands-on stations throughout the museum. Unique Deep Space experiences and tours are again guaranteed during the Christmas school vacations.
Get active during Family Days
In the open workshop “LED (b)it snow”, a snow flurry is programmed with a microcontroller (8-11 years), in the Kids’ Research Laboratory, the themed light container is opened and a colorful play of colors is discovered (4-8 years), while on a family tour, knowledge stations and artistic works are put to the test together – all this is possible during the Family Days (December 14–15). At the heart of all the activities is the question: How can we address the burning issues of our time in a targeted and sustainable way?

Tips for the Christmas Vacation
During the Christmas vacation, Deep Space 8K shows off its best side: with “Deep Space Family,” visitors experience immersive games and virtual excursions into space every day and embark on a journey into the colorful world of shapes and colors. Family tours reveal fascinating details in the Museum of the Future – and head to the new exhibition “Connected Earth,” which focuses on the fragile ecosystem of planet Earth.
With the program “A micro:bit of Space,” young people between the ages of 12 and 14 set out to discover the universe and learn how programming language helps shape a space mission. Although the Bruckner year 2024 is coming to an end, the magic of classical music continues at the Ars Electronica Center. The highlights Being Anton and Playing Anton remain a special tip for vacation activities.
