Easter at the Museum of the Future: Holiday Program 2025

(Linz, April 7, 2025) Over the Easter break, children between the ages of 8 and 14 can embark on a voyage of discovery at the Ars Electronica Center. From April 15 to 17, four different workshops invite kids to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of space technology, explore climate-neutral forms of energy and question the balance of our planet.

Holiday Program: A micro:bit of Space 
Wed 16. Apr 2025, 10:00 – 12:30 | 9 to 13 years | Price: 7€

This workshop explores the mysteries of the universe and the superpowers of the BBC micro:bit single board computer. Kids take on the role of explorers and experiment with the microcontroller. They will take their first steps in programming and learn how to use their newly acquired skills for a space mission. The workshop is run by ESERO Austria and provides an insight into the exciting world of technology and space travel.

Holiday Program: Fully entangled

Everything on Earth is connected. You can see this in the many things and structures that humans have made – the power lines, the underground water pipes, the roads, the railroads, the smartphones, or social media. But these connections are also found in nature. Every animal, every plant, and even every stone is part of a great balance on Earth. This workshop explores these complex networks.

Holiday Program: Space Debris Tentacles
Thu 17. Apr 2025, 10:00 – 12:30 | 8 to 10 years | Price: 7€

How can we protect the Earth’s orbit from space debris? In this creative workshop by ESERO Austria, children embark on a mission to keep space clean and protect satellites from space debris. They design their own “space debris collection” and collect ideas for the removal of waste in space. Like space explorers, they conduct tests and also take inspiration from nature.

Hydrogen is seen as a beacon of hope on the road to a climate-neutral energy supply. However, this will only be possible with green hydrogen – hydrogen produced using renewable energy sources. The electrolysis model in the Connected Earth exhibition illustrates the production process. In this workshop, children and their parents will produce hydrogen together and use it as a power source. The open workshop is free to attend with a valid museum ticket.
