Das Panel stellt DozentInnen vor, die sich in den letzten Jahren der Kunstvermittlung zwischen Geistes- und Naturwissenschaften verschrieben haben. Die Erfahrungen aus der Auseinandersetzung mit Wissenschaft und Kunst finden ihren Ausdruck in einer originellen Theorie sowie in der künstlerischen Praxis der Studierenden, teilweise über mehrere Generationen hinweg. Wir möchten uns die Zeit für eine kritische Bestandsaufnahme nehmen, die nicht nur zu Skepsis, sondern auch zu einem Wandel in der Gestaltung der Kulturtechnik führt. Lehrende verschiedener Disziplinen erklären Ansätze, die aus der Begegnung von Kunstpraxis und -theorie an Kunsthochschulen entwickelt wurden. Im Mittelpunkt stehen die Abenteuer und Visionen, die sich 100 Jahre nach der Euphorie der Bauhaus-Gründung manifestieren.

Yvonne Volkart (CH)
Yvonne Volkart is a lecturer in art and media theory at the Academy of Art and Design FHNW Basel. There she heads the research project Ecodata – Ecomedia – Ecoaesthetics. Together with Karin Ohlenschläger (LABoral, Gijon) and Sabine Himmelsbach (HeK, Basel) she curated the exhibition Eco-Visionaries. Art, Architecture and New Media After the Anthropocene. Completed research projects include: Times of Waste.

Georg Trogemann (DE)
Georg Trogemann, born 1959 in Bamberg, since 1994 Professor for Experimental Informatics at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne. He studied computer science and mathematics at the University of Erlangen, doctorate 1990. In 1997-1999 and 2004-2006 he was the Academy’s Vice-Rector of Research and Infrastructure. His main research interests are Art, Philosophy of Technology and Theory of Poiesis

Lasse Scherffig (DE)
Lasse Scherffig is an artist, designer and researcher. He is a professor of Interaction Design at Köln International School of Design (KISD) and previously served as the chair of the Art and Technology department at San Francisco Art Institute. After studying cognitive science and digital media, he received a doctorate degree from KHM, Academy of Media Arts Cologne with a thesis on cybernetics and interaction. His work has been exhibited and published internationally.

 

Alexandra Toland (US/DE)
Alexandra Toland is a Berlin-based visual artist and environmental planner with research interests in ecosystem services, urban ecology, soil and culture, and the Anthropocene. She is Junior Professor for Arts and Research at the Bauhaus University Weimar, where she directs the PhD Programme in Art and Design.

Frank Eckardt (DE)
Frank Eckardt holds a PhD in Political Science. He teaches at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar since 1999. There he was established as Professor for social studies and urban Research in 2009.
