Der Kosmos ist für das Medienkunst-Kollektiv Quadrature ein unverständlicher, aber wahrhaft realer Ort. Ein Ort voller Konzepte und Superlative, die sehr oft über das Verständnis des Durchschnittsmenschen hinausgehen. Voller Theorien, die sich aus aufgeklärten Überlegungen ergeben, aber nichts als Wunder, Ehrfurcht und (Un)Glauben hinterlassen. Diese wilde Mischung aus Wissenschaft und Spekulationen, aus Rationalität und den grundlegendsten Emotionen bildet den Hintergrund für die in Linz gezeigte Werkreihe.

Biografie:

Quadrature is an artists’ collective based in Berlin. Their artistic exploration gravitates towards scientific interests and physical experiments, using new technologies and academic research as source and inspiration. The surreal promises of astronomy have haunted the artists, culminating in a series inspired by strange signals, little green men and possible multiverses. Their work has been presented at international festivals and exhibitions, such as the Ars Electronica Museum, CYNETART in Hellerau, Künstlerhaus Wien, International Digital Arts Biennial in Montreal or The Modern Art Museum Santralistanbul in Istanbul. They realized their first solo exhibition at Liusa Wang Gallery at the end of 2018.
