TechiEon ist eine Taekkyeon-Performance – eine traditionelle koreanische Kampfkunst und immaterielles UNESCO-Kulturerbe –, die die Biodiversität des Zeitalters (Äon), die zusammen mit der Entwicklung der menschlichen Technologie entsteht, neu skaliert. Durch den Einsatz von KI-basierter Augmented Reality (AR), Klangerzeugung und Body Art überlagern Taekkyeon Masters und DigitalkünstlerInnen unterschiedliche Zeit- und Raumsinne in vielschichtigen Medien. Die Performance untersucht die organismischen Formen und Wirkungen der Medien, die in ökologischen und technologischen Bereichen des Planeten zirkulieren. Ein solches Verständnis von planetarischen Interaktionen und Dynamiken zwischen Medien und Technologie verbindet sich mit der zugrunde liegenden Philosophie von Taekkyeon – „Symbiose“ –, die ihre eigene Geschichte von über zwei Jahrtausenden hat. Ziel ist es, die Sinne für das Klima und den Habitus der kommenden technologischen Zeitalter neu zu schärfen und gleichzeitig die Geschichte der Menschheit und der Natur samt ihrer Konstruktionen miteinzubeziehen.

Biografien:
The Chungju Municipal Taekkyeon Corps. was established in 2011 with a view to preserve and prosper Taekkyeon, the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity no.76. Being Masters and National Inheritors of Taekkyeon, the Members of the Corps. have organized and participated in numerous Taekkeyon performances held in international and national stages, including the 65th Les Clefs dÓr Concierge Conference(2018), Korea-Poland International Cultural Exchange in Poland, ASTANA Expo in Kazakhstan(2017), UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity Performance in Korea(2017).
Yeonjoong Jung is a National Inheritor of Taekkyeon and Senior Master of The Chungju Municipal Taekkyeon Corps. He is a First-Degree expert in Taekkyeon Education and Art & Culture Instruction, and Committee Member of Organization for the Preservation of Taekkyeon. He studied Physical Education at Kyung Hee University.
Gyuri Kim is a National Inheritor of Taekkyeon and Member of The Chungju Municipal Taekkyeon Corps. He is a Second-Degree(Dong) Master of Taekkyeon, Third-Degree(Dan) Master of Hapkido, and Second-Degree Master of Judo.
Yaelim Lee is a National Inheritor of Taekkyeon, and is a Second-Degree(Dong) Master of Taekkyeon. She has been a Member of The Chungju Municipal Taekkyeon Corps since 2009. Having studied in Korea University, she has researched on the ways to preserve Taekkyeon in the forms of digital media.
Kyungjun Park is a First-Degree(Dong) Master in Taekkyeon, Fourth-Degree(Dan) Master in Taekwondo, Third-Degree(Dan) Master in Hapkido and First-Degree Master in Karate. He was a National Athlete of Taekwondo in 2006-2012. His research interest focuses on technological demonstration of traditional martial arts.
Seho Son is a Member of The Chungju Municipal Taekkyeon Corps. He is a First-Degree(Dong) Master of Taekkyeon, Second-Degree Master of both Karate and Japanese Fencing. He had been a National Athlete of Karate for 3 years, and Youth National Athlete of Karate for 3 years. He won the First-Placement in Iran Zamin Karate Cup, and Third-Placement in East Asia Karate Championship.
Digital Artists & Technologists
Juyoung Ha is a motion graphic designer and PhD student in the Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Science, Multimedia, and Film at Chung-Ang University, and has worked for many advertising companies in Korea. Her research interest includes human body and interactive media. She is also the winner of Best Picture Award at Seoul International Invitational Exhibition in 2017.
Ina Hur (a.k.a. Artina) is an Asia-based new media artist who combines botanical arts and light installations to depict the experiences of and affection towards global travels and nature. She was the New Media Art Director of (2018) in Seoul, and has led numerous commission-based art projects across East and Southeast Asia.
Min Joon Kim is a sound designer and technician, also a professional projection-mapper. Currently a senior student at Chung-Ang University, he majors in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, as well as Game & Interactive Media. He researches on the ways of combining the science of electricity and art, with his fervid love in music.
Yang Kyu Lim is a PhD candidate in the Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Science, Multimedia, and Film at Chung-Ang University. He received his second Master’s degree in Culture Technology from KAIST. Further, he received his first Master’s and his Bachelor’s degree in Music and Education from University of Music Franz Liszt Weimar, Germany. His researches focus on the realization of musical interaction and media art through computer languages and Artificial Intelligence.
Inhwa Yeom is a media artist and curator, and research assistant at KAIST. Her research interest mainly focuses on how “transnational” experiences in the age of technological media are remediated in the forms of visual praxes. Her works concretize as AR/VR, interactive videos, online platforms, architectural installations, performances, and academic writings.
