Voice and sound recordings, together with sound objects, weave a “sound carpet” which provides the basis for an electroacoustic journey. These textures act as a sort of humus for voices, from which they repeatedly emerge in fragmented form. Associations of the most diverse kinds and unexpected connections are evoked.

Biography:

Martina Claussen is a composer and vocal artist who explores and combines the sounds of the human voice and sound objects with field recordings, analogue and digital electronics. She explores space and performative action and has gradually developed her own, distinctive style of music.

She performed at international festivals including: Ars Electronica 2017 + 2018, Wien Modern 2017 + 2018, Iklektik – London 2018, New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival 2016-2019. She works at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna where, since 2009, she holds the position of Associate Professor of Voice.
