AREYOUARE

Pre-Showing

SILK Fluegge (AT)

The project is a pre-showing of AREYOUARE, in which performer Silke Grabinger is surrounded by robots. Three robot vacuum cleaners, a kitchen robot, and a robot dog interact not only with her, the sole human participant, but also with each other in unpredictable ways. As the performance unfolds, boundaries are re-examined, in reference to Carolee Schneemann’s Up to and including her Limits. The core research question of AREYOUARE explores the tension between rear projections, hyperfeminism, and hybridization through the interactions between the robots and the performer.
