At this station, visitors can create imaginative portraits of themselves. A playfully and intuitively assembled prompt blurs the boundaries between reality and fantasy. The AI DALL·E generates several image drafts based on personal characteristics, producing a digital twin—an Egovatar—that reflects different facets of one’s own identity.
Here, “Ego” stands for the self and the subjective perspective of self-representation. Because the characteristics are captured from one’s own point of view, they often appear egocentric and lack self-reflection. The results tend to reinforce stereotypes and take limited account of gender and cultural diversity—highlighting the limitations of current AI technology. The name Egovatar emphasizes that these images often represent distorted or stereotypical versions of one’s personality, encouraging critical reflection on digital self-representation and the role of AI.
