Although panic is not a reliable guide, it often signals an urgent need for new perspectives and approaches to societal issues. Under the motto PANIC – yes/no, this year’s festival sees Ars Electronica Solutions presenting strategies for turning uncertainty, change, and technological complexity into creative productivity and empathic communication.
In the Open Solutions area of POSTCITY, Ars Electronica Solutions provides insights into its own working methods under the title How do we work? It explores the question: “How do we try to impact society through the projects we develop and realize for our clients?” The processes involved—from initial conception to creative development, interactive prototypes, and immersive applications—are revealed. The focus is on such topics as digital transformation, creativity in times of crisis, and collaborative thinking about the future.
Daily talks featuring guests from the arts, science, education, and industry will further explore these themes. These will demonstrate how close collaboration can generate new insights and how creative processes can provide a response to uncertainty and complexity.

    A playfully and intuitively assembled prompt blurs the boundaries between reality and fantasy. The AI DALL·E generates several image drafts based on personal characteristics, producing a digital twin—an Egovatar—that reflects different facets of one’s own identity.

  • Immerse Yourself in the Past

    As one of the main installations in the Past section of the LABOUR LAB, this virtual reality experience invites visitors to immerse themselves in the working world of the 19th century.

    The Mini Deep Space is a 1:20 scale model of the Deep Space by Ars Electronica. The space offers an intense communal experience and invites playful interaction.

    Climate change is changing everything, including the animal world. Our native birds are struggling with heat, drought, and the loss of their habitat. Only those who adapt quickly have a chance of survival. We humans call this “rapid evolution”.

  • Rotunda – Music of Encounters

    Music comes to life between people. That is the guiding principle of the musician, composer and music artist Rupert Huber. He has created a piece of music in dialogue with Ars Electronica Solutions especially for the Rotunda of the Pinakothek der Moderne, which is performed by the museum’s visitors. It is their movements that trigger the melodic sequences of the composition, creating the Music of Encounters.

On display is the Austrian GTIF, an initiative by the European Space Agency (ESA). GTIF provides cities, industry, and civil society with information-based tools to support the transition to a climate-neutral future.
