How Can Collaboration Expand Access to Creative Expression?

Wacom (JP), TOA (JP), Ars Electronica Futurelab (AT)

Life Ink is an artistic exploration of the intricate creative processes occurring in the brain and body. Using biosensing technology and a new form of digital ink, Life Ink makes the invisible visible by capturing inner states as they change and interpreting them into an intuitive and accessible form of expression. At the Open Futurelab, you can put on the biosensing gear and experience the novel immersive installation Life Ink Community, featuring glass-free stereoscopic 3D and surround sound.

Developed through the long-running Future Ink collaboration between Wacom and Ars Electronica Futurelab, Life Ink now invites the public and new collaborators to help expand the platform and community, in partnership with sound experience collaborator TOA.

Life Ink premiered at the Ars Electronica Festival 2022, later becoming part of the Ars Electronica Center’s permanent exhibition and inspiring new projects like LIFE INKlusive (2025), also present at the Festival.
