Music comes to life between people. This is the credo of composer Rupert Huber. For the Rotunda at the Pinakothek der Moderne, he has created a unique composition in collaboration with Ars Electronica Solutions and Petros Kataras—performed by the museum’s visitors. Their movements trigger melodic sequences, forming what Huber calls the Music of Encounters.
Huber describes this Social Music, where human interaction becomes musical composition. Sensors detect movement and trigger sounds, allowing multiple people to create a shared symphony.
The tones are tailored to the Rotunda’s architecture, its shape influencing the harmonies. Encounters form the foundation of music.
