To make complex environmental and climate issues understandable, tangible, and visible, new forms of communication are needed. This was exactly the goal in developing The Mapping of Upper Austria—the Gigapixel Viewer. This tool combines high-resolution aerial images with interactive layers and infographics, making visible what often remains abstract. Whether it is land consumption, climate analysis, renaturation, flood risk, or light pollution—it reveals what is changing in the region, what is problematic, and where action is needed. The Gigapixel Viewer is designed for events, exhibitions, and dialogue formats, inviting users to explore, understand, and engage in discussions. The aim is not only to display data but to explain connections and encourage collective action. This interactive map was presented for the first time at the 2025 Climate Summit.
