2025 Ars Electronica Festival
From September 3 to 7, Linz will again become the hotspot of the international media art scene. Spread across festival locations throughout the entire city, exhibitions, performances, concerts, and conferences will be offered and mostly take place in the POSTCITY, the main location of the festival. The title is “PANIC – yes/no.”

3,987 submissions for Prix Ars Electronica: Winners of the 2025 Golden Nicas
(Linz, July 7, 2025) Since 1987, the Prix Ars Electronica has honored pioneers who realize inspiring projects at the intersection of art, technology, and society. In 2025, the competition received 3,987 submissions from 98 countries. The four winners have now been selected and will be awarded the coveted Golden Nica.

Media Literacy Award 2025: Grand Prize for „Faust goes AI“
(Linz/Vienna, June 25, 2025) The Media Literacy Award (MLA) 2025, presented by the Federal Ministry of Education (BMB), the OeAD, and Ars Electronica, has been decided: Out of more than 130 submissions from teachers across Austria, the project Faust goes AI from BG Bludenz came out on top.

Ars Electronica at ESA Conference in Vienna
(Linz/Vienna, June 24, 2025) The ceremonial opening at the Austria Center Vienna yesterday marked the official start of this year’s Living Planet Symposium – the European Space Agency’s largest Earth observation conference, taking place from June 23 to 27, 2025. Ars Electronica plays an important role, particularly in terms of knowledge transfer for children.

European Union Prize for Citizen Science: The Grand Prize goes to HEROINES: Heritage of Emancipation
(Linz/Brussels, June 20, 2025) With 409 submissions from 58 countries, the European Union Prize for Citizen Science attracted significant international interest in its third edition. The Grand Prize, along with €60,000 in prize money, is awarded to the initiative HEROINES: Heritage of Emancipation from Serbia.
