The CanSat school project, launched in 2010 and organized in Austria by ESERO Austria, challenges teams of students to build a satellite (Sat) the size of a beverage can (Can). The satellite is launched by a rocket to an altitude of 500 meters and ejected. During its descent back to the ground, the CanSat must complete missions. The project has grown from a few participating teams in 2010 to over 1500 participating students* from ESA member and associated states! Join us for the CanSat Outreach online event on September 27, where the project will be presented again in detail and even with an ESA astronaut! From September 29, the European CanSat competition 2021 will start online. The application for the CanSat Austria competition, which is the preliminary decision for the European competition, runs until November 14, 2021. All details can be found directly on the ESERO website, and there will also be an information event on October 12.
