With the pix2pix procedure, users can draw free sketches which are then turned into cat pictures by a conditional generative adversarial network (cGAN).
The program was “fed” with numerous examples of cat images beforehand and tries to recognize typical cat features, such as pointy ears or cat-shaped eyes, in each sketch. These shapes are then turned into cat pictures that are issued in color. The results can be truly bizarre figures, though they still have something cat-like about them.
