“From the sky to the water and everything in the middle”
Celebrating five years of Chilean participation in the Ars Electronica Festival and the collaboration between Ars Electronica with the Ministerio de las Culturas, las Artes y el Patrimonio and the Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de Chile, a selection of projects is presented in the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo (MAC) in Santiago de Chile from December 7, 2022, to January 21, 2023.
The second floor of MAC Parque Forestal featured installations of diverse formats, performances, and video works. New works by some artists or reversions of the pieces with which they participated in the festival are also included.
“The approaches of several works coincide in the attempt to unveil the equivalences and networks between organic, machinic, political, and economic systems; between biological, mineral, and conceptual entities, proposing other narratives where technology is not an end in itself. The handmade manufacture of circuits; experimentation with water; observation of the fungi kingdom; use of drones, GPS systems or sophisticated artificial intelligence software, are resources to make perceptible the plots that have shaped our history and that build the present as a dynamic assembly of beliefs, devices, fears, cables, pixels and spectra, inviting us to collectively exercise our imagination to project other modes of existence. modes of existence.”
