Tour: Brainpower & ... II
From the structure of the Gyri and Sulci, which we now already know from the "Tour: Brainpower & ... I", we zoom into the deeper layers: What do neurons look like? How does the information transfer in the brain take place? And how does our nervous system work?

Tour: Brainpower & ... I
In this short tour we will show you the origins of brain research, which findings have brought us further and which modern devices are currently being used.

"You've got to have something in your head!" you hear over and over again. And we have - quite a lot, actually! It's about 1.2 kilograms, electrically charged, constantly gathering information and giving orders. What we are talking about here is the complex control centre behind the forehead, our brain.

Tour: Upper Austrian Panoptikum IV
In this Spanish tour we give you an insight into our exhibition „AI x Music“ from the first string and wind instruments of ancient times to the digital synthesizers of today, from the wax rollers and soot-covered glass plates of the first precursors of the gramophone to the digital streaming services of the Internet.

Family Tour
Join us on this Family Tour to the exhibition "Global Shift"! We show you the most interesting facts in and around Upper Austria.

Tour: Upper Austrian Panoptikum III
In 2020, the Ars Electronica Festival will take place for the first time on the campus of Johannes Kepler University. However, this is by no means the first cooperation between the JKU and Ars Electronica.

Family Tour
Johannes Kepler was a sky researcher who lived almost 450 years ago and spent a large part of his life in Linz. If you would like to learn more about Johannes Kepler and his research work, this Family Tour is the right place for you!

Tour: Upper Austrian Panoptikum II
The University of Art and Design in Linz and Ars Electronica have had close ties for many years. As part of the "TIME OUT" exhibition series, for example, the Ars Electronica Center is making space available to young media artists studying "Time-based and Interactive Media" for their artworks. In this tour we will present some of these works.

Family Tour
After last year's great success, the Master School of Communication Design at HTL1 Linz is once again presenting its works of art at the Ars Electronica Center, which they designed in the framework of Nextcomic. In this Family Tour we present the students' artworks and show you how Augmented Reality can be used.

Tour: Power to the People II (EN)
This tour focuses on the installation "MegaPixels" of our new "Understanding Artificial Intelligence" exhibition. "MegaPixels" is an independent art and research project that explores the origin and individual impact of image recognition data sets and the related ethics of privacy and its role in the expansion of biometric surveillance technologies. The project aims to provide a critical perspective on machine learning image data sets that might be overlooked by academic and industrially funded AI think tanks. Each dataset presented on this website will undergo a thorough review of its images, intentions and funding sources.

Only educated scientists can do research? Not at all! Non-scientists can also participate in scientific processes and thus become an active part of the knowledge society. At Citizen Science, interested laypersons can help with scientific projects or carry them out completely alone by making observations, taking measurements or evaluating data. In this tour we present this project to you!

Science Talk: OCT - A look beneath the surface
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is an innovative method for the non-destructive examination of various materials. Developed in the early 1990s, speed, resolution and stability have since been significantly improved. As a result, new fields of application can be opened up continuously. In this interactive presentation, Günther Hannesschläger explains how the method works. Learn more about some important practical examples and find out what exactly the Reserach Center for Non-Destructive Testing in Linz is researching in this area.

Tour: Navigating The Future (Featuring FH AMU Wieselburg)
In this tour we will look at some examples from the "Global Shift" and "Understanding ArtificiaI Intelligence" exhibitions and talk about how mankind is using increasingly advanced technologies to influence not only his own living space but nearly every aspect of life. Students of the FH AMU Wieselburg are also connected via live stream.

Tour: Bio Art & Science IV
We’re not alone! From unicellular organisms to humans, all animals and plants are inhabited by microbial organisms. These microorganisms influence the fitness of their host and together they form a metaorganism.

Family Tour
In this Family Tour we introduce you to C.Elegans, whose brain is more easily entangled than the human. And imagine, their brain can even be transferred to a robot!
