Glaciers have always exerted a special fascination on people. Their enormous masses of ice shape the high mountain landscapes of our earth and in the polar regions thick ice shells cover large parts of the land. Since the end of the Little Ice Age in the second half of the 19th century, the Earth’s glaciers have been on the retreat. With the installation “Glacier Retreat” of our exhibition “Global Shift” we want to give you an understanding of the phenomenon of glacier retreat and above all put it into a local and global context.
