Citizen science for new forms cities
We will talk about open-source tools for cities which allow people to participate and visualize data they put on the map and make their own city projects in a city to move forward. We will use as a simple example the project of mapping trees in Paris. The main goal of the garden is to make city-living experience participatory and show how everyone could contribute to the city-analysis, citizen science and data collection in a creative way.
Liu Bauer and Vera Baumann are co-founders of City Interaction lab in Montreuil. They started a digital form of the lab with researchers and artists giving lectures on how to create data driven projects for a city. Projects are illustrated in city lab website: https://sites.google.com/cri-paris.org/cityinteractionlab/
