Shadow of Original Sin

Die interaktive Installation Shadow of Original Sin untersucht die menschliche Urschuld. Wo es Licht gibt, muss es auch Schatten geben. Aus den Schatten können wir immer die dunkle Seite der menschlichen Natur sehen. Im Inneren des Apparats spiegelt sich die Urschuld in dir als Mensch. In der Installation verwandelt sich der Schatten des Publikums in ein Monster. Das Monster wird vollständig vom Publikum kontrolliert, wie das Monster reagieren wird, hängt vom Publikum ab. Das unbewusste Böse der menschlichen Natur ist völlig offengelegt.

 

Biografien:

Xu Dongyan: Undergraduate student at the Cheung Kong School of Art & Design at Shantou University, majoring in Digital Media Art. New media art is a wonderful and imaginative art; it has unlimited possibilities. I am attracted by its magic and constantly trying to explore its possibilities to express my ideas and enrich myself.

Guo Biyu: Undergraduate student at the Cheung Kong School of Art & Design at Shantou University, majoring in Digital Media Art. Normally, I would not try to do interactive media art and even would not try to make art. Through the process of this project development I started to think differently. I discovered endless possibilities for creative expression, complex storytelling through meanings and metaphors which makes me believe that media art is still full of vitality.

Zhong Manting: Undergraduate student at the Cheung Kong School of Art & Design at Shantou University, majoring in Digital Media Art. I am a person who likes abstract objects. For me, ambiguous things are more attractive and carry multiple connotations. Through my work I am trying to discover a language of meanings capable of communicating complex life ideas and enlightening the human soul.

Zhengren Chen: A senior student at Shantou University, China, majoring in mechatronic engineering. Apart from mechatronic engineering, he is interested in Arduino circuit applications and has applied his knowledge to various interactive design projects. Chen is particularly familiar with optimal maneuvering of robotic manipulators. He was awarded “Scholarship for Outstanding Contribution to Academic Science and Technology” for the years 2017 and 2018 respectively at Shantou University.
