Letta Shtohryn works predominantly CGI, VR, video, machinima and video games. Drawing inspiration from intuitive epistemologies, Letta explores the factual-fictional narratives, truth making, belief and their effects in the social-physical realm. Through a posthumanist perspective, she examines the notion of embodiment, considering the enmeshed coexistence with avatars, aliens, monsters, ghosts, and the intersecting realms, both visible and invisible, that they inhabit. Recently she has shown her works at Ars Electronica festival (AT); Goldsmiths College, London (UK); Centre Pompidou (FR); Kunsthalle Exnergasse, Vienna (AT); Spazju Kreattiv (MT); Milan Machinima festival (IT); Frieze Art Fair (NYC) and The Box at Phillips (NYC).
During the FOUNDING LAB Fall Term she will be exploring embodiment, myth-making, and belief through XR, CGI, and video game design.
The project she will be working on during the Fall Term is part video game and part on-site motion capture dance performance. Rooted in her dissertation research on sensing, intuitive epistemologies, and XR, the project is conceived as a science fiction reflection on the contemporary condition shaped by the divergence of online and offline worlds through manipulative narratives.
Fall Term Project: Чули? Чули.
