Who decides over the funding for science, research and innovation?

This practical workshop delves into the intricate landscape of resource allocation in the realm of scientific exploration and progress. Over the course of three engaging hours, participants will learn the basics of public research funding and politics. Three case studies (international research projects on biotechnology, AI, and edtech) will enable participants to critically question the complex web of stakeholders, policies, and decision-making processes that shape the funding distribution. We will also discuss current challenges and ethical limitations surrounding the crucial determinants of funding for science, research, and innovation.
