Turbulence

Grains of sand resembling visual particles are sonified by mapping their individual velocities to various parameters of individual grains inside a custom-made granular synthesizer. Velocities also determine the color of the particles, which together create a spectrum of colors and sounds.

MELT is an award-winning interdisciplinary studio led by the creative team of directors Kamila Staszczyszyn & Kuba Matyka. They focus on creating unique experiences in every scale and form. Ranging from Virtual Reality to massive scale spectacles, their work is getting international attention thanks to the characteristic audio-visual approach of combining intensive, full-of-life visuals with a human touch. As part of the Ars Electronica Festival 2018 they will present the work Turbulence in the Deep Space 8K.

Turbulence is an ongoing series of high-resolution visual experiments with particles simulated in different virtual environments. The 3-part piece presented during the festival was created exclusively for Deep Space 8K.
