With more than 20 billion laser points the cathedral church of St. Stephen in Vienna was measured. In this unique level of detail they correspond to a data volume of almost 400 gigabytes and form the basis of the translucent St. Stephen’s Cathedral. An innovative approach as an interactive journey through the transparent sacred building in stereoscopic 8K. The novel insights through the layers of the Cathedral Church were created as a cooperative effort between the Ars Electronica Futurelab, ScanLAB Projects, RIEGL Laser Measurement Systems and the Dombauhütte St. Stephan zu Wien.
