Climate Change and Space Technology

all school levels

| | |

The space sector is not only fascinating, but also helps us to combat global warming and protect against disasters. There are no gas stations or electric charging stations in space, but there is a breathtaking view of the Earth – and cutting-edge technology! Earth observation satellites provide us with a wealth of information about our planet. Space technology is also helping to find climate-protecting solutions. Examples include helping polar bears to adapt to changes in their environment and using as much renewable energy as possible.

With this teaching module, teachers can easily integrate the topic of space technology into their lessons. Playful exercises invite them to look at satellite images, decode information from space and understand solutions to climate change through space technology. With an eSquirrel quiz, the students acquire the new information in a sustainable way. The workshop is conducted via MS Teams, Zoom or a similar platform, if desired.
