Deep Space LIVE: Watching the Brain while it Works

(Linz, June 6, 2016) The human brain will occupy the focal point at the next Deep Space LIVE this coming Thursday, June 9th at 8 PM. Dr. Raimund Kleiser, a medical physicist on the staff of the Kepler University Clinic’s Department of Neuroradiology, will elaborate on one of the most fascinating methods used to perform research on the brain: functional magnetic resonance imaging. Attendees will also receive a briefing on the latest state of scientific knowledge in this field and clinical applications in neurology, neurosurgery and psychiatry.
About Raimund Kleiser
Dr. Raimund Kleiser has been a medical physicist in the Department of Neuroradiology at Kepler University Clinic’s Neuromed Campus since 2008. A native of Freiburg, he was previously on the staff of Düsseldorf University Clinic and Zürich University Hospital. Since 2013, he’s been in charge of the newly founded imaging center that brings together functional imaging expertise from several different neuroscientific fields.
Deep Space LIVE: Sharks
The Ars Electronica Center hosts a Deep Space LIVE event every Thursday (except holidays) at 8 PM. Each presentation features ultra-high-definition imagery in 16×9-meter format and is accompanied by expert commentary, entertaining stand-up repartee, and musical improvisation. Holders of a valid Museum ticket are admitted free of charge.
