During the last years, the discourses around the loss of biodiversity and more sustainable production and consumption models have advanced widely in the fields of natural sciences, social sciences and new technologies. However, our actions individually and collectively are lagging. We call it „loss of biodiversity“, but this is not a loss, we are killing biodiversity through our behavior.

How can we change this and co-create a more sustainable future?

Lucio Montecchio (IT): Professor at the University of Padua, where he teaches Forest Pathology and Tree Health classes. Member of the advisory council of the Botanical Garden of the University of Padua (1575), he is the author of numerous scientific and technical publications and is a consultant to leading international institutions such as IPPC / FAO, EU, EPPO, EAC. In 2018, the Financial Times called him „The man who saves trees.“
