boundaries

Frontiers || Territories
Joana Resende (PT)
Boundaries are constantly being changed, and those we find today may have already changed tomorrow. In a protected area of the Greater Lisbon area, aerial images are collected to build a map with open source software. These are shared through a website that is, itself, also a map, allowing for the visualization of economic, ecological and social while trying to see how well a territory / protected area is respected – “para mais tarde recordar” (for later recall).

VH AWARD
by Hyundai Motor Group (KR)
The VH AWARD’s purpose is to uncover promising Korean artists creating media art. It seeks to support the art-making process of these young media artists but to also help them gain international recognition. To guarantee a fair evaluation, award winners will be selected by highly celebrated curators from all around the world. In addition, the winners will have the opportunity to display their works of art through the 24.4-meter-long media wall, located at the Hyundai Motor Group University.

Lumina
Danniella Vizcarra (PER), Claudia Cortes (MEX)
Lumina is an interactive installation that aims to generate a sense of presence by exploring the personal and peripersonal space of the user. The instrument reflects interactive boundaries of light drawn by our bodies. The intensity, color, and shape of the boundary is modified when the user extends or retracts their arms.
