The Fortress is a story-driven video game for computers where choices and interactions explored within the game result in different outcomes. Its main mechanics correlate with social interactions: by switching between two characters with different personalities, the player needs to unravel the mystery of each puzzle/level of the fortress.
The project was created under the aegis of the Multimedia Art Department and the Instituto Superior Técnico Master’s Degree in Games.
Biographies:
Andreia Batista / André Silva / Luís Morais / Miguel Ribeiro : The team behind The Fortress resulted from FBAUL’s partnership with Instituto Superior Técnico – IST. It consists of Andreia Batista, a Communication Designer with a Master’s in Game Design; André Silva, a Game Designer who loves to create compelling stories that imprint themselves into the memory of players; Miguel Ribeiro, a Level and Game Designer developing mobile, computer and board games, and Luís Morais, a Game Designer developing a thesis about how to integrate a social AI architecture with Conan Exiles.
